TJ Lawson

About Me:

Before coming to IMG Academy, TJ studied and competed at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. While there, TJ found great success in the Multi-Events. He is a 6x NCAA Division 1 championship qualifier, 3x Division 1 All-American, 2019 Great Lakes Regional Athlete of the Year, and 2021 USATF Olympic Trials Participant. Currently, TJ is competing at a professional level with the goal of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

COACHING

• Began coaching at IMG Academy in 2021
• Coached 3 National Champions
• Coached 11 All-Americans at NBNO/NBNI
• Guided 13 multi eventers to National Championship qualification (Indoor and Outdoor)
• Facilitated the placement of 16 multi-event athletes into NCAA Track and Field programs
• Coached 2 individual Florida Indoor State Champions in horizontal and vertical jumps
• Currently coaching the nation’s top high school decathlon training group, with a projected AVERAGE of 7,075 points for the top 4 athletes.
