Taja Valmyr

Assistant Coach

Taja Valmyr joins the IMG Academy volleyball program, bringing a wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport, along with a commitment to being a positive role model for young athletes.

Valmyr has been instrumental in the success of both programs at Eastern Washington University (EWU), leading the Lady Tigers to their first GCAC Championship and helping the Tiger Men secure the SIAC Regular Season Co-Championship and finish as Tournament Runner-Up in 2021-2022.

Prior to her tenure at EWU, Valmyr coached club volleyball at Jacksonville Juniors for four seasons. As a standout player at Flagler College, she clinched three Conference Championships, earned AVCA All-American honors, received three All-Peach Belt Conference selections, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. She graduated from Flagler College in 2018 with a degree in strategic communications.

A native of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Valmyr had an impressive high school career at Clay High School, earning four letters in volleyball, two in basketball, and two in track. She was named an All-First Coast Conference selection as a senior, recording 322 kills, 31 aces, and 200 digs for the Lady Blue Devils.
