Mark Stephens is a seasoned throws coach with over a decade of experience developing athletes at various levels. Before IMG Academy, Mark was the throws coach at Lakewood Ranch high School, Oakland Highschool, LaVergne High School, Steel Throwers Track Club, and headed the Elite Throws Club in Smyrna, TN. A former state finalist in shotput at Niles Mckinley High School, Mark excelled as a multi-sport athlete and played football while competing in the shotput, discuss and hammer at the University of Toledo. His dedication to throwing extends beyond the NCAA, with years of post-collegiate experience in the sport.

  • Coached 17 throwers that have moved on to throw at power 5 schools; 10 Mid Major/FCS schools; 5 D2 schools
  • Coached an athlete that went on to be a NCAA Champion in the men’s weight throw; 2X USATF National Champion in the hammer and weight; Olympic Trial and World Championships qualifier and current #3 ranked men’s hammer thrower in the USA; 2021 Olympic Qualifier in the Men’s Hammer.
