As the NBA Developmental League transitions to the NBA Gatorade League, we took a behind-the-scenes look at IMG Academy's Gatorade Sports Science Institute lab. The GSSI Lab will be working with all 25 NBA Developmental teams starting next season.
The GSSI lab at IMG Academy is one of two such labs in the world. Here, athletes can undergo a series of advanced tests to determine their current level of performance and how they can optimize their efforts. The scientists at the Bradenton lab study the effects of nutrition on the human body before, during and after exercise, and how warm weather affects athletes in various sports.
