What started as a qualifying dream at the 2020 French Open has landed IMG Academy tennis alumnus, Sebastian (Sebi) Korda, a Sunday slot in the Round of 16 against his childhood idol, Rafael Nadal. Korda, who claimed his first ever Grand Slam main draw win in this year's Roland Garros event, is onto his seventh match of the tournament after his Friday third-round victory.
Sebi has been a part of the IMG Academy family for several years, and he's certainly not the only Korda who's recognizable on the Bradenton, FL campus. His sisters, Nelly and Jessica, have a longstanding reputation on the LPGA tour and formerly attended IMG Academy's golf program as well. Nelly is currently ranked No. 2 on the tour's Rolex Rankings while Jessica is currently sitting at 22nd.
As recognized by the ATP Tour, the Korda family has a special type of bond - one that extends well beyond the course or the court. During this year's French Open, Sebi's sisters can be found watching his matches halfway across the world as they find time between their rounds of golf to virtually cheer on their younger sibling. Golfweek also reported on the Kordas iconic relationship in their story produced this week prior to the sisters' upcoming tee-off at the KPMG Women's PGA in Philadelphia. Whether from the stands or through a screen, the Kordas can feel the support amongst their close-knit family.

With parents who competed on the ATP and WTA tour, the three siblings have been immersed in a supportive yet competitive atmosphere since they can recall. Petr Korda, who is also Sebi's coach on tour, and his mother, Regina Korda, recognize how their children's bonds transcend even further than their professional careers, and they support and celebrate their athletic aspirations.
