A Note From Head of School Dan McKee / Recovery Efforts and Next Week's Plan

Dear IMG Academy Families,

I hope you are all safe and continuing to recover from the impact of Hurricane Milton. Recovery efforts are ongoing across the IMG Academy campus, and we're proud of how resilient and strong our community has been during this time. I want to take a moment to acknowledge and recognize our student-athletes who sheltered-in-place. This is one of the most resilient groups I've ever been around, and I'm incredibly proud of they handled everything in the past week. Their strength and adaptability have been inspiring to all of us.

Below is our official return-to-campus plan:

• We are welcoming student-athletes back to campus beginning Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.
• Academic delivery will be through e-learning for this coming week. On-campus student-athletes are encouraged to join teachers for in-person office hours Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. Student-athletes who can't make it back to campus for reasons due to the storm will receive excused absences.
• Sport and APD participation will be optional next week for those student-athletes on-campus. Schedules will be delivered directly to student-athletes through Teamworks and we encourage student-athletes to participate.
• Fall break will continue as scheduled with Friday as an off day. Homecoming has been postponed.
• All student-athletes will be expected to be back on campus by Monday, Oct. 21

Please know there are some areas and facilities that will still be unavailable at the start of next week due to storm damage that could modify programming. Caution tape will be around areas that should not be entered.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this recovery process. Thank you, again, for your resilience and patience during what has been one of the most challenging weeks we've faced at IMG Academy.
