IMG Academy Promotes Brian Nash to Vice President of Athletics

BRADENTON, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2024) - IMG Academy, the world’s leading sports education brand, has announced the promotion of Brian Nash to the Vice President of Athletics effective immediately. Nash previously served as the Director of Basketball, where his leadership, strategic insight, and dedication to student-athlete development significantly contributed to the program's growth and success and positively contributed to the student-athlete experience.

As Vice President of Athletics, Nash will lead all 15 sports programs at IMG Academy and their operational and technical elements for student-athlete development and experience.

Under Nash’s leadership at IMG Academy, the basketball program earned the 2019 Boys GEICO National Championship and has had dozens of student-athletes matriculate to college basketball programs. In 2023, over 20 basketball program alumni were playing in the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s tournaments. Additionally, former program alumni Zach Edey won the NCAA men’s basketball national player of the year honors and three 2022 graduates were drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft including Jarace Walker (No. 8, Indiana Pacers), Jett Howard (No. 11, Orlando Magic) and Keyonte George (No. 16, Utah Jazz).

Prior to IMG Academy, Nash was an NCAA Division I men’s basketball coach as both a head coach and an assistant. He came to IMG Academy from Duquesne University where he was the Associate Head Coach. Before Duquesne, Nash held coaching roles at Fairfield, St. Francis, Seton Hall, Siena, St. Bonaventure and Sacred Heart, leading teams to multiple NCAA and NIT postseason appearances. He was a basketball student-athlete and team captain at Keene State, where he graduated with a degree in economics.

IMG Academy has commenced the search to fill the vacant Basketball Director position within the next several months. Mike Gillian, who is the Head of Boys Basketball at IMG Academy, will assist in day-to-day responsibilities to support the basketball program operations during the transition.
