Camila Tapias Signs NLI to Join GW Women's Basketball

WASHINGTON - Colombian guard Camila Tapias has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the George Washington women's basketball team in the fall of 2014, Head Coach Jonathan Tsipis announced today.

"Cami is a talented left-handed player who will be able to score in a variety of ways in our high-scoring offense," said Coach Tsipis. "With the graduation of Danni Jackson and Megan Nipe, we are excited to add Cami to our talented core of perimeter players that will make up the 2014-15 roster."

IMG Academy's Khaleann and Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau and Camila Tapias ready for first-annual SchollyMe All-World Game

The IMG Academy Girls Basketball program's Khaleann and Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau, and with Colombia’s Camila Tapias, were invited to take part in the first annual SchollyMe All-World Game at Concordia University April 19th in Irvine, Calif. The dynamic trio led the Girls Basketball team to an impressive 35-9 overall record this season. In November, the Caron-Goudreau twins signed with Vanderbilt, and earlier this week, Tapias signed with George Washington University. The Girls All-World Game tips off at 6:30 p.m. PST/9:30 p.m. EST.

IMG Academy Women's basketball crowned Florida Hoops Challenge champs in Orlando

The IMG Academy Women’s Basketball program improved to 10-0 in the fall after winning the Florida Hoops Challenge, held at Dr. Phillips in Orlando, Fla., Dec. 13-14. The event featured 14 of the top programs in the southeast battling it out in a round robin format. With a 2-0 record and a 13.5 point average margin of victory, IMG Academy won the title handily.

IMG Academy Women's basketball dominates Australian U18 National Team

On Wednesday night, the IMG Academy Womens National Team took the floor to take on the Australian U18 National Team. The Ascenders, who have been off to hot start this season put on an impressive showing against the Australians, winning 60-44.
