McGrone is an American track and field athlete who competes in sprinting events, focusing on the 100m and 200m. She competed for Florida State University for two years before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. McGrone was All-ACC for the 100m Outdoor in 2009 as well as All-ACC, NCAA All-East Region Champion, and NCAA All-American for the 4x100m during that same year.

As a member of the Oklahoma track and field program McGone won the 2011 NCAA 100m dash title in an Oklahoma record 11.08 seconds. She also holds the school record in the indoor 200m dash (22.84). McGrone earned All-America status in the 100m and 200m dashes and earned second team All-America honors as a member of the 4x100m relay in 2011. McGrone finished sixth in the 100-meter dash at the 2011 USA Track and Field Championships and was the top collegiate finisher.
