The IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis program's Basil Khuma collected his second consecutive ITF doubles title at the Hyderabad ITF, Grade 4 event held in Hyderabad, India, Sept. 2-7. Coming off his doubles title the week prior at Chennai, Khuma partnered once again with Deepak Vishavkarma, and entered the competition as the No. 5 seed. Khuma and Vishavkarma enjoyed a first-round bye and rolled through their first two opponents in straight sets. The challenge intensified when they reached the semifinals, facing Taipei's Shao-Fan Liu and Yu-Tse Tsou. Khuma and Vishavkarma were taken to the limit of their stamina through two sets and a lengthy tiebreak, but reached the final after a 4-6, 6-2, [10-6] win. The path to the title ran through the formidable pairing of India's Garvit Batra and Japan's Shoki Kasahara, who were the No. 1 seed entering the doubles tournament. Once again, Khuma and his teammate had to fight for every point and outlast the competition, and succeeded, winning 6-4, 6-3, [10-8].
For the 15-year old Khuma, it marked his fourth ITF doubles final appearance, and his third title on the year.
