Every week at least one athlete from each sport will earn the Gatorade G-Award/IMG Academy Athlete of the Week for displaying Heart, Hustle and Soul, and exhibiting a true desire to reach their true athletic potential.
The IMG Academy Girls Soccer winner of the Gatorade G-Award for the week of July 8 is 15-year-old Katie Seabolt from Houston, Texas.
How long have you been playing soccer for?
I've been playing soccer since I was four years old.
Who is your coach?
Coach Kim Dean.
What is your favorite thing about IMG Academy and why?
My favorite thing about IMG Academy is the training and how it was really helpful with all of my skills. It helped me get a lot better just even in the one week that I was here.
Do you have any pre-game rituals that help you prepare for a big game?
During the national anthem, I pray.
What professional athlete inspires you the most?
The professional athlete that inspires me the most is Abby Wambach. I've always looked up to her as a player. She's a leader on and off the field, and that's what I want to be.
What is your favorite thing to do after you win a game?
I like to celebrate with my team at dinner after I win a game.
What motivates you to push through a tough practice?
My teammates and my coach motivate me to push through a tough practice because I know I'm going to get better with their help.
