IMG Academy alumni Sally Watson, Doris Chen, and Katy Harris advanced to the US Women's Open following sectional qualifiers.
Watson, a native of Earlsferry, Scotland, has continued to impress since competing at the Curtis Cup for Great Britain & Ireland. On Wednesday, the Stanford senior shot 4-over 148 to win the Broadmoor, Colorado qualifier just a week after her final NCAA Championship.
Chen, a sophomore on the first-place USC NCAA Championship team, qualified in Heathrow, Florida last Tuesday while former PG student and Pepperdine graduate, Eileen Vargas shot a 145 to be named an alternate at the US Open.
Harris, a former LSU student-athlete, proved redemption after failing to qualify for the 2011 US Open by tying Canadian Jessica Shepley with a 149 total to win the Woodlands, Texas qualifier on May 21.
