Antiguan National Team will be at IMG Academy from May 26-June 8 in preparation for their World Cup qualifier
The Antiguan National Soccer Team will hold a training camp at IMG Academy, May 26-June 8, in preparation for their June 8th matchup against the U.S. in a World Cup qualifier to be held in Tampa and broadcast on ESPN.
Antigua and Barbuda's match against the USA will be the first of the Semifinal Round of FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifying. The Caribbean nation has never advanced to the Semifinal Round before and will also be facing the U.S. for the first time in the team’s history.
The game also marks the first World Cup qualifier in the state of Florida since the USA defeated Mexico 2-1 on Nov. 23, 1980, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
Along with the U.S. and Antigua and Barbuda, Group A consists of Guatemala and Jamaica. Each team will meet each other both home and away in round robin play. The top finishers from each of the three groups will advance to the Final Round of qualifying, which will take place in 2013
