BRADENTON -- IMG Academy' International Performance Institute has undergone a makeover.
A longtime staple for athletic development, the institute now encompasses six segments, including the Bollettieri Sports Medicine Center; Mental Conditioning; Leadership; game on Media; The Wellness Spa, The Nutrition Division and Tom Shaw Performance Enhancement.
Tom Shaw and H.J. Adams will lead physical conditioning. Shaw has worked with elite football athletes and also has experience in the development of tennis, basketball, baseball and soccer athletes.
Adams has spent the last three seasons with the strength and conditioning division of the New Orleans Saints, and will coordinate Shaw's division at IMGA with performance coaches.
Sally Parsonage, who has provided nutritional guidance to athletes in a wide range of team and individual sports, will head the nutrition division.
Chris Passarella is the new director of mental conditioning.
Kevin Murdoch has taken over as director of the Bollettieri Sports Medicine Center, which has a custom-designed approach to rehabilitation.
The game on Media business is run by consultants Steve Shenbaum and Blair Blumesten. Shenbaum has consulted with the National Basketball Association and National Football League referees.
